To strengthen its presence on the market, Weiss AG takes an additional step by investing in the latest laser technology which allows to machine perfectly not only PCD diamond cutting tools but also those in CVD. Thanks to this new technology, cutting edges impossible to realise before are now within reach. It is conceivable to cut almost all imaginable geometries, whether it be sharp or, rounded edges, positive or negative, with or without 3D chip breaker for an optimal chip evacuation. CVD (…)
The new MultiSwiss machine from Tornos is already making a big impact. As its presence on the market grows, additional product suppliers are starting to bring out solutions which extend its possibilities. A case in point is Applitec, which has produced a tool holder head designed for cutting. Specialists in bar turning tools, Applitec provide solutions which are specifically designed for machining parts from a few tenths of a millimetre to 32 mm. By using this dedicated cutting tool (…)
Micro machining is a rapidly growing market – even complex geometries on a miniature scale can now be reliably mass produced with materials difficult to cut. The new Rego-Fix Tool holder with cutting-edge technology for micro machining. To meet stringent, high-precision requirements, the toolholding system plays a key role as the interface between the cutting tool and machining center – which is where the new powRgrip® PG 6 system size from the Swiss tool manufacturer REGO-FIX comes in. (…)
As machine tools are taking steps forward in the machining of small parts, so cutting tools are evolving to provide the performance needed for high utilization of machine capability. The last few years has seen a number of tool concepts being introduced, making the machining of small parts in sliding head machines more competitive. A manufacturing area where saving seconds in both cycle and down times is vital to competitiveness. The manufacture of small components is dominated by the (…)
Haimer, leading manufacturer in tool holding, and headquartered in Igenhausen, Germany has developed an innovative tool holding system for high-performance machining called SAFE-λOCK™. In the Haimer Safe-Lock™ system, spiral-shaped grooves are ground into the shaft of the cutting tools. In combination with the corresponding drive pins in the tool holder, they prevent the tool from being pulled out of the chuck during heavy machining. In high precision turning when we speak about guide bushes and collets, the solutions available on the market involve split elements. Depending on the circumstances, this advantages the entry of chips into the adjustment and clamping devices and can generate significant problems for users. A new generation of patented non-split collets and guide-bushes are presented by ECS Swisscollet. They solve this problem and bring many other benefits. Meeting with Mr. Marchand its director. M. Marchand (…)
Miniature tools need to be highly precise and reliable. This is because they have to cope with demanding materials and, what’s more, do this with small tool diameters and tolerances in the μm range. Zecha Hartmetall- Werkzeugfabrikation GmbH in Königsbach-Stein has developed a tool range for such applications that is perfectly tailored to the demands of micromachining. The manufacture of miniature parts and components requires the observance of extremely low tolerances and thus the (…)
To discuss practical solutions and provide lasting food for thought – these are the objectives of praxisFORUM+. With this new series of events, the KOMET GROUP, in collaboration with selected cooperation partners, is establishing a regular platform for issues and questions from various disciplines, with the main focus centered on current developments and practical tips. The opening event will be held on March 29, 2012 in the IDEEN-FABRIK+ (IDEAS FACTORY) in Besigheim and will be organised (…)
Conceptools, the Swiss company located in Le Locle, announces the creation of a new company on January first 2012: Innotols. Its goal covers design, implementation, manufacture and sale of tungsten carbide (MD), high speed steel (HSS) and cubic boron nitride (CBN) cutting tool. Conceptools focuses on polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and natural diamond (MCD) tools. The companies’ flags show clear filiation. This will allow Innotools to benefit from the reputation of quality and serious earned (…)
The guide bushes delivered with Tornos Deco7 and Micro7 machines have a thread of M10x0.8, which is difficult to find and not according to international standards. Walter Dünner SA proposes the alternative to allow customers to set up their machines with guide bushes from different producers. The two proposed nuts adapt the machine in order to set up guide bushes with M10x0.75 thread. The machine equipped with such a nut will then also be able to accept the same guide bushes as set on (…)
