The Prodex, Swisstech and Pack&Move shows just closed their doors and it seems the week was very successful for a lot of people there. We at Eurotec thank our visitors for the sympathetic shared moments there. Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM® software for programming CNC machine tools and a Cimatron company, today congratulated GibbsCAM user Center Rock on its significant role in the October 2010 rescue of 33 trapped Chilean miners: Center Rock’s Low Profile (LP) Hole Opener drills – which were produced with machine tools programmed with GibbsCAM – shortened the rescue effort by two and a half months. In the medical devices industry, platinum is frequently used as the working material, particularly for producing cardiac implants. As platinum is very expensive material – 1kg costs a little over €35,000 Euros – alternatives that are more cost-effective are being sought.
