8-position turning turret on multi-process machining center
We published recently a post about Willemin-Macodel first new product at EMO. This one is about the second novelty. The other world premiere presented by the Swiss company goes far beyond usual machining possibilities involving milling and turning. The 408MT is actually the first compact 5-axes bar machining center equipped with an 8-position turning turret. Thanks to this technological feature, the 408MT can machine simultaneously on the main spindle. It can, for example, perform drilling (…)

"Compact" lathes with Y-axis and new turret
During EMO 2011 Spinner presented their small TC300 CNC lathes with new turret system developed in house. Higher rigidity of turret, usability for live tools 100% of the operation time, better integration into machine design of working area and lower costs were the reasons to design their own turrets also for the volume machines of small and medium machine models. The Spinner TC300-52-MCY with Y-axis and Siemens 840D-SolutionLine can machine parts up to a diameter of 250 mm. TC300 is a (…)

New range of bar feeders
After the success of the SBF320 bar feeders on the Delta and Gamma product ranges, Tornos has introduced a new low-cost line of "e" bar feeders at EMO. These bar feeders are different from their predecessors in that they are more simple in design and offer basic functions. They have an offset control on the bar feeder and guide components for a single channel. Optimal integration These bar feeders were developed in conjunction with the development of the machines and this helped (…)

Ecoline – The start of a new era on entry-level
The turning and milling machines of the new Ecoline by DMG / MORI SEIKI were presented at EMO in a new design as the ideal service packages for even more productivity and ergonomics at an unbeatable price. The new functional design is quite an eye-catcher, which is however much more than just visually appealing. The perfect combination of functionality, efficiency and user comfort make the two new universal lathes in the CTX Ecoline family a convincing option. The highly dynamic turret (…)

New Small-Footprint ST-10 Turning Center from Haas Automation
Turning small parts on a large lathe usually isn’t an efficient use of a company’s assets, and could adversely affect the bottom line. The New Generation ST-10 CNC lathe from Haas Automation, Inc., provides an economical solution for small parts turning in a compact package that is loaded with full-size features. The Haas ST-10 turning centre was designed from the ground up to be extremely rigid, highly accurate, and very thermally stable. All castings were optimised using finite element (…)

Machining at any Angle Position with the Traub TNL18-7B Sliding/Fixed Headstock Automatic Lathe
First launched in 2009, the TNL18 series sliding/fixed headstock automatic lathe has become one of the most popular all-around machines in the sliding/fixed headstock product range from the Germany-based company Traub Drehmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG. For the EMO Hannover 2011, Traub engineers added icing to the cake: The Traub TNL18-7 (model with seven linear axes) now comes with an extra B axis which gives it another degree of flexibility. The Traub TNL18 sliding/fixed automatic lathe (…)

Pine-Tree Groove Cutters on Hermle C 60 U MT
Alternative energy sources are currently a hot topic and will most likely result in new solutions for potential energy savings and alternative ways to manufacture energy parts that are being developed. However, sometimes it does not require the wheel to be reinvented but simply for it to be implemented correctly. Subsequently, Iruba Innovations GbR and Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle AG have joined forces, combining their current product highlights in a single manufacturing process (…)

The allrounder in complex grinding jobs
The new Studer S41 CNC universal cylindrical grinding machine is characterized by outstanding technology and cost-effectiveness. The machine grinds with much higher precision, paired with a much greater metal removal rate. In addition the longitudinal and cross slide, as well as the swivel axis for the wheelhead are equipped with electric direct drives, which move to the working position much more quickly and precisely. Higher precision, better surface quality, higher metal removal rates – (…)
